This pathway travels through a northern white cedar swamp and offers 9 miles of trail open to non-motorized activities such as cross-country skiing, hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding. This pathway is managed by Hoeft State Park

Located near Alpena, the Chippewa Hills Pathway provides a great variety of terrain for your hiking, biking and skiing adventures. With almost 9 miles of trails and four possible loops, it provides great opportunity to adventure through a beautifully dense forest. Visitors who are looking to cross-country ski should know that only a few of the sections of the path are suitable for skiing and are noted along the way.
