Located within the 580 acre Fred Russ research forest, this 13 acre park with its rich history and natural beauty is one of the most visited parks in Cass County.
Fred Russ Forest Park is 8 miles east of the town of Dowagiac. The park boasting sheltered picnic areas, a canoe landing, playground equipment, fresh water and 4 miles of hiking, equestrian and cross-country skiing trails. The park is open from sunrise to sunset year round. The width of Dowagiac Creek is variable, but generally is from 25 to 30 feet.
