Description

Located near the majestic Manistee River, this rustic campground is surrounded by tall jack pines. There is a large open group camping area designed for equestrian campers riding the Shore-to-Shore Trail, a 420-mile trail system open to hiking and horseback riding, that stretches east-west from Empire to Oscoda with two additional northern and southern spur trails.

This group campground has a maximum capacity of 200 individuals or 50 wheeled recreational vehicles. The facility can accommodate both tents and trailers and includes vault toilets and potable water from a well-hand pump. There is also a submersible pump that requires a 5000 watt generator. Group camping is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Call for availability.

Equestrian trail rider groups planning a ride may need to acquire a permit. If the event will only utilize one campground, please contact 989-348-7068. If the group will utilize multiple campgrounds along the Shore-to-Shore Trail, please contact the Cadillac Operations Service Center at 231-775-9727, ext. 6006

This campground is maintained with the help of the Michigan Trail Riders Association.
