Description

Ortonville Recreation Area is located in north Oakland and southern Lapeer counties. This approximately 5,400 acre recreation area contains high wooded hills and a wide range of recreational activities.

The trailhead for the Equestrian/Snowmobile Trail is located just north of Fox Lake Road. The trail offers 8.5 miles of designated trails wandering through Hadley Hills. A 25-site equestrian campground is located at the trailhead off Fox Lake Road. It is a rustic campground with vault toilets and a hand pump for water. Visitors who are not camping can park their vehicles in the Staging Area adjacent to the Equestrian Campground.
