Description
This quiet open group camping area is nested amongst a beautiful hardwood forest, and was designed to meet the needs of equestrians riding the Shore-to-Shore Trail. The 420-mile Shore-to-Shore trail system is open to hiking and horseback riding and stretches east-west from Empire to Oscoda (with two additional northern and southern spur trails). The Stoney Creek Equestrian Trails also provide some looped trail riding options in the area.
The group campground has a maximum capacity of 100 people. Amenities include fire pits, picnic tables, picket poles, vault toilets and potable water from a well-hand pump. There is also a water pump that can be run by a 3500 watt generator.
If a group will utilize multiple campgrounds along the trail, please contact the Cadillac Operations Service Center at 231-775-9727, ext. 6006.
This campground is maintained with the help of the Michigan Trail Riders Association.
